Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Benefits for your Hair

Creates Shine and Protects Color
ACV smooths and seals the hair cuticle, making it ideal for reaching great shine levels. It is thought that the enzymes from the fermented apple close and smooth the hair cuticle.
This process will restore condition and shine, and prevent color pigment loss if your hair is color-treated.

Clarifies and Adds Volume
Excess oil can weigh down hair on your scalp, destroying any appearance of volume. In addition to clearing out grease, grime, and product buildup that has clumped up in your hair over time, ACV can potentially remove the weight of those excess oils, helping to boost volume as a result.

Relieves Itchy Scalp and Dandruff
In addition to its many beneficial properties, ACV is also an anti-inflammatory, meaning it can prevent bacteria growth on the scalp. This is the reason why it is ideal to use for dandruff sufferers or people with an itchy scalp.

Encourages Hair Growth
Although ACV isn't a cure-all for treating hair loss, its acidity can work as a potential solution for hair thinning by keeping a balanced pH level.
We recommend to use an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse after using one of our solid shampoo bars to restore the PH and add shine. It also helps during the adjustment period. You can try ours which has added herbs and essential oils or you can just make your own at home.

How to make your own ACV Rinse at home

Because ACV is slightly acidic, when it's mixed with 3 parts water it may extend the life of hair colour, but only when applied right after the colour is rinsed off. Most hair colours are alkaline, which opens up the hair cuticle, and applying an acidic solution will reseal the cuticle.
You can experiment to find a dilution that works best for you and your hair type, but in general, the following steps are a good place to start:

Mix 3 parts water to one part vinegar in a spray bottle (100 ml of ACV to 300 ml of water if you want to be exact). Spray your scalp well.  Work the vinegar into clean hair with your fingers. It will be diluted enough that it will not burn. Allow the vinegar mixture to sit for two to five minutes. Rinse your hair and scalp with warm water.
Follow this rinse with a conditioner. Depending on your hair texture and length you might not need a conditioner or just a small amount at the ends. Rinse your hair well, until you're sure all product (and vinegar) is rinsed out.

Using ACV in your everyday skin care routine

Washing your face daily helps to remove oil, dirt, and other debris. The best way to get your skin as clean as possible is to use a ACV face wash or cleanser. When used as a facial cleanser, apple cider vinegar is an effective way to remove bacteria from the surface of your skin. It will also help to remove spots and treat oily skin.
To create an all-natural apple cider vinegar face wash from scratch, mix:

1/4 cup warm water
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

Dab a cloth or reusable pad into the mixture and use like a cleanser. Rinse with clear water.
Use one of our face and body soaps followed apple cider vinegar to gently cleanse instead of harsh chemicals.

Then a Funky Soap face cream according to your skin type.
